Health Coalition Playground

Close to the YMCA, nestling among the trees, is the McDowell Health Department playground, which is a fenced safe area with slides and interactive adventures for the kids, plus fitness machines that the adults can take advantage of while watching the children play.

McDowell Skate Park

The McDowell County Recreation Center & Skate Park, built my the City of Marion in 2005, is located on the corner of West Court Street and Academy Street next to the recreation center building and swimming pool.

The park is open from daylight to dark, and has everything a skater could need!

The Gym at the Recreation Department in Marion is open from 8.30am to 5pm for anybody who wants to come along and shoot some hoops!

West Marion Neighborhood Park

This neighborhood park was constructed in 2001 on 2.2 acres. Addie's Chapel United Methodist Church donated the land on Ridley Street in West Marion. The park contains a walking trail, a picnic shelter and tables, a basketball court and playground equipment. The park is available for use during daylight hours.

This neighborhood park was constructed in 2012 on 10 acres of property donated by Frank and Debra Boldon. The park is located on Hill Street in the Clinchfield neighborhood. The park contains a walking trail, a picnic shelter and tables, a basketball court and playground equipment. The park is available for use during daylight hours. A future phase will involve construction of a trail from the Park to Virginia Road to link both sides of the former Clinchfield Mill Village.
